I totally agree. The book was able to accurately portray child bratty-ness in 10 sentences but, for some reason, someone thought they could make an interesting 2 hour movie out of it.
That's not what I'm doing to myself.

This is clearly unconstitutional. The Supreme Court ruling in Loving Vs Virginia made that completely clear. No local laws to the contrary which remain on the books are enforceable. How did this person get to be a local registrar without so much as basic instruction in the fundamentals of civil rights?

Well, judging from the comments, it doesn't look like anyone actually read the article. It's a shame, too, because it was about how inundated the public has become with useless trends and ***** memes through the media and social networking and how it tweaks our reality invariably. It sucks because this is the world we've created. You can turn it off but you almost have to turn off everything...TV, internet social networking, Digg, etc. Just think how much space ***** like Kanye West and balloon boy are occupying in your mind when real news mostly gets all dissolved in the ***** if it gets reported at all these days.No wonder people can't figure out the truth from the lies from the half-truths in the media. Networks feed people the ***** they want in order to get an audience. Instead of giving them the truth and the facts, it's spoon fed to them with Lady Gaga and Kanye and Balloon Boy...the U.S. is NOT a country known for it's intelligent public...they cannot discern facts from fiction from useless *****. And thus, we go on...the media is a blender mixing the ***** with the cream and we're all drinking it up.

"Colo. Sheriff: Charges Will Be Filed In Balloon Boy Saga"From FoxNews. Good. I hope there are charges filed in this. This stunt cost the state a lot of money, and it could have cost the lives of rescuers had there been an accident.

Sure, I can clarify. I usually try not to bore the ***** out of people unless they want me to. There are multiple reasons for the phenomenal addictive properties of heroin over other opioids.1. Bioavailability (the ratio of medication ingested that is available to the system, usually expressed on percentage) - Since heroin is usually used IV, the bioavailability is nearly 100%. IV meds tend to have a quick onset of action and a higher bioavailability because they bypass first-pass metabolism. You could also inject oxycodone, the opioid on Oxycontin.2. Metabolism - Heroin is metabolized to other active compounds, like the very addictive morphine and 6-MAM. Oxycodone also metabolizes to active compounds.3. Ability to cross the blood-brain barrier - This one is important because if it is not on your brain it will obviously not make you high (or be analgesic). When used IV, heroin is highly lipophilic, even more than morphine, and it crosses into your brain very easily. Oxycodone is also liphophilic but its molecular structure makes it less so than heroin.4. Histamine - When used IV, heroin releases histamine, enhancing the "high"5. Opioid receptor subtypes - This is also important as not all opioids are created equal. We have multiple subtypes of opioid receptors, one subtype receptor family is responsible for analgesia when stimulated, another one causes euphoria and so on... Well, individual medications may have more or less affinity for these particular subtypes. Therefore you some opioid drugs could provide better analgesia than others, and/or as in this case, euphoria (intense high/rush). Of course all of this argument will be purely theoretical if it wasn't for in vivo data, or studies in real people. It is well documented that when given a choice to former addicts (and other mammals), there is a very strong preference for heroin vs other opioids such as fentanyl, oxycodone, meperidine (Demerol) or other similar drugs. Don't get me wrong, the synthetic opioids, like Oxycontin, are highly addictive but heroin is some serious, serious *****. I have been told by addicts that if you ever try heroin, you'll like it so much that they guarantee you will get hooked. If anyone is interested in learning more send me a "shout" here on Digg and we can talk more.
