Disprove Darwin? Hardly. It would just show that stupidity isn't sufficient to harm reproductive opportunities too much. And I think we already have plenty of evidence of that. You're right about the fact that it doesn't even come close to qualifying for a Darwin Award, but you're still a dick.

You get more mercury in your bloodstream from eating one tuna sandwich than you'd get in a years worth of these vaccines. They aren't kidding around when they say "Trace amounts".

Re: "While I'll admit that the electric universe theory is interesting and might hold water, it's probably best to do the actual science instead of sitting on Digg complaining about the people working on the science..."The science is largely in place. Keep in mind that the Electric Universe is a rather straightforward application of laboratory plasma physics to our observations of space, and cosmology. Plasma physics is a fairly mature discipline by now. But you wouldn't realize this situation unless you decided to read about the theory. Nobody is going to wake up one morning -- without reading about it -- and suddenly understand what a plasma is, how they behave in the lab and why our observations of space match our experimental work with laboratory plasmas. But for those of us who HAVE gone out of our way in our own free time, and without fear of learning something which might be false, we are being rewarded with this never-ending onslaught of accidental discoveries by NASA and radio astronomers across the planet which confirm the Electric Universe. It literally just keeps on giving. To be honest, people should have woken up at the point when Deep Impact generated TWO flashes. They should have realized it when Birkeland Currents as wide as the Earth were observed to be regularly connecting the Sun with the Earth, or when observations of our galaxy's outer halo was noticed to appear like a bowl of spaghetti with thousands of tubes coming out of it in all directions. Keep in mind that the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds are not at all cloud-like: they are, once again, filaments. Everywhere you look in space, on all scales of observable space, we see filaments, guys. So, this is not exactly rocket science. Filaments are not naturally formed by gravity. There must be an organizing force to maintain the filament. We understand the process by observing plasmas in the laboratory (plasmas constitute 99.999% of observable matter in space). These filaments are called Birkeland Currents, and they are the same thing you see in your novelty plasma globes. But, the public to some extent can be forgiven for the confusion because the APOD, BAUT and all sorts of otherwise very intelligent people are doing their best to convince people to not pay attention to the EU. |
