No, it is not an ARM. We had a 5/1 ARM at 5.125, but we just modified it to a 5 year FIXED at 3.99% amortized over 30 years, meaning there is a balloon payment at the end of 5 years (which you can refinance or modify the loan again, although modification is not guaranteed). However, we are planning on moving out of the state in 3-4 years so the balloon payment doesn't matter to us.It is costing us 1 extra monthly payment to modify the loan(approx $1,100), but over the 3 years we plan to stay in the house it will save us approx $15,000 in interest payments and we'll end up with about $7,000 more equity in the home.Basically it was a no-brainer.Obviously this type of mortgage is not for everybody or situation. However in our case it is perfect.

Does anyone over the age of 12 enjoy the Twilight series? Honestly? I've read plot synopses and even paged through the first one for 10-15 regrettable minutes: poorly written, terrible premises, awful and overly-convenient mythology, with very little overall to recommend it considering the plethora of superior horror and/or romance novels and short stories available.Yes, I am qualified to make that judgment. I'm not qualified to earn a decent living in an industry that hasn't shrunk to academia and a few entrenched individuals, but I sure as hell am qualified to call those novels, and their author, useless and derivative. |
