no one was blaming their problems on Fox. Had Fox News commentators not been giddy over Chicago losing out on the vote to host the Olympics so they could attack Obama over it, there really wouldn't be any comments about the Olympics and Fox News. But they did, so now they have opened themselves up as fair game to be ridiculed for it. You say something stupid, or act like unpatriotic dick just cause the president is a black democrat, then you kind of bring upon yourself. And no, it won't force Rio to anything that actually helps its country or it's citizens. yes, they will get rid of the slums, they will do this by forcing all the people living in them to move some where else, and then tear down all the slums. They will build stadiums, roads, and dorms/hotels/motels that yes, will create some great temporary jobs. And during the Olympics, they will hire extra cops, many of whom will be members of gangs, and being cops/military will give them access to more guns and ways to shake people down, or get a man inside the law enforcement as a spy. And then, when the Olympics are over, the crime elements and shanty towns will return because poor people need a place to live, and the gangs will continue their violence once again as freely as they did before.

Of course none of them want to go back to prison. But a lot of them don't take advantage of opportunities like this (this is not the only place that hires mostly ex-cons) and instead choose to do the same things that got them into prison in the first place. Because i is EASIER in their mind to sell drugs or rob people than to work for $8 an hour.

There is one problem with this thing: it still takes a LOT of water. Because water is artificially dirt cheap in most places, the cost of this bio mass process is also artificially low. Immediately, from the environmental perspective, this isn't a viable option (Because of the ridiculous water usage). Economically speaking, the real cost isn't represented (Do we really think we can subsidize the cost of water in perpetuity?) |
