Generally, republicans are held to a higher standard as the media is much more gleeful in shining a spotlight on a corrupt conservative. It has nothing to do with republicans holding themselves accountable. Since the current administration came to power the MSM has not covered numerous stories (Van Jones, ACORN, tax evasion, major architects of the bailouts being financially involved with banks) that would have been front page headlines if it happened to the other party.That having been said, people in power should not be trusted regardless of the political affiliation.
