“This is a great article and I sincerely hope that all of us nerds will make it into the top articles. I think it's important for everyone to have some decent nutrition. I'm a programmer so I spend long hours in-front of the computer and I try to eat regularly. If it's snacking on carrots, or celery or something similar.

Care to clarify? It would be nice to have a "and here's why ..." instead of just "I'm a real-life psychiatrist and I say so, therefore it must be true.".
$50??? Ooooh...sounds like someone prefers the fancy ones.!

By the way, here is a link to a summary of the comparison of WMAP analysis to a medical radiological analysis. It's incredibly important that advocates for the CMB better understand the types and sheer amount of human-based processing that is responsible for generating the finalized WMAP dataset ...http://creation.com/wmap-proof-of-big-bang-fails-n ...Unfortunately, it's really common for laypeople (I'm one as well) to just accept astrophysicists and cosmologists at their word. They've surely convinced most people that the public just doesn't understand. That's reasonable when you consider the lack of good criticisms that have up until now been available regarding the WMAP data. But the situation has evolved recently, and we're now seeing very intelligent and reasonable criticisms of the WMAP data.I should also perhaps note that Gerrit Verschuur has identified more than 200 correlations between WMAP hotspots and local interstellar filaments which have been mapped with radio telescopes in all-sky surveys. When you see an electromagnetic fog which lacks an obvious explanation, your first reaction cannot reasonably be that you are looking at proof for the origin of the universe. Step back for a moment and just think about how absurd that is. It's like finding the meaning of the universe in your bowl of cheerios. Where do you draw the line? You should really FIRST assume that you are in an electromagnetic fog which is locally generated. And if you cannot prove that first, then yes, sure, go ahead and try to prove that it is a relic radiation from some primordial big bang. But, we're putting the cart before the horse if we're thinking that proving the Big Bang Theory is more important than a more objective search for the answers. |
