Most frustrated are those of us who tried to tell anyone who was listening that all of this was coming.The simple fact in all of this - the stock market indices have historically spanked real estate returns. Real estate has one advantage - leverage. People with only 50k down or even 0 down up until recently could get an appreciating asset. So when that 500k house goes up 100k, you just "made"100% on your out of pocket if you put 50k down. It is well documented that the benefits in real estate vs stocks is leverage. I don't invest in either.If you want to talk about tax shelter as an advantage, we can when the market goes up. There is no advantage to writing off taxes on interest - when the house is not appreciating more than the interest, but rather DEPRECIATING.

Since it was a foxnews poll, you can pretty much rest that it's more than 43% who would vote to re-elect him. And even if that 43% figure were true, its actually not that bad if you look at past presidents polling. Pretty much every president during the last generation takes a nose dive in polling 6-12months after becoming president. The only one who didn't fit that standard was GWB since 9/11 gave him an astronomical boost that he then ran into the ground over the next couple of years.
