Fuel cells can use a variety of fuels. More important are the downsides of hydrogen:1. Pure protons, so it leaks more than any other known fluid2. Massively corrosive.3. Requires either great pressure or low temperature to contain in useful quantities.These challenges make storing and pumping hydrogen difficult, expensive, and inefficient.Then there's the fact that hydrogen must be _manufactured_, so unlike fossil fuels it is functionally no different than any other kind of battery that must be 'charged' by an external power source. Net energy return on the fuel itself is - obviously - negative. For oil, it's between 20:1 and 100:1 (i.e. 100 joules out for every 1 joule invested).Hydrogen just doesn't make any sense. Taking into account all of the inefficiencies and losses, existing batteries are already more energy efficient than hydrogen combustion OR fuel cells.Add the massive cost of the ultra-high-tech equipment (like platinum-rubidium coated valves to prevent corrosion) needed to utilize hydrogen (are you really going to have 900 million cars fillled with platinum-rubidium pipes?), and it's obvious hydrogen is totally DOA.Case closed.
She's overrated.
