Women artists are eligible to become members after being accepted in two open juried exhibitions and also by separate Portfolio Review. Membership dues are $35 per year.

Annual Members Juried Show
All members in good standing can submit work to our Members Juried Show. The location of the show varies and top galleries and museums that have sufficient space for our shows are selected.  We select prominent and highly qualified women from the field of visual arts to be our jurors.

Our Annual Dinner Meeting
Once a year, the full membership is invited to come together to enjoy an evening of good food and camaraderie with their fellow women artists. The organization’s officers bring the group up-to-date on important happenings and future shows, but, more importantly, the members have the opportunity to network with each other and share ideas. These get-togethers also include an ‘art swap’ where members can bring one of their small works to swap with another artist in a sort of art ‘grab bag’. A good time is always had by all!

New in 2009 –
Regional Members Meetings
For the first time in 2009 we will be organizing regional meetings to provide members with an opportunity to get to know fellow members in their own corner of the state. Because we are such a large organization, bringing everyone together in one location is always a challenge. These meetings will afford members the chance to meet and network with each other without traveling half-way across the state. It’s also a great opportunity to form groups for car-pooling to drop off work or attending events.

The chance to get involved!

Working with the CWA Council is an opportunity to keep the organization vital and relevant. It is a great learning opportunity to find out how shows are organized, how they are hung and what juror’s are looking for.  It also provides the chance to meet the jurors, curators, art and museum directors that we work with to plan our shows.

How to Apply

The annual Portfolio Review is held each fall. Artists are invited to send a CD with 10 to 15 images representative of their work. The CWA Council will review the submission and select applicants whose work meets the organization’s standards for membership. When this year’s review is scheduled, full information and an application form will be posted here.
