About the Akus Gallery
Akus Gallery, located in Willimantic, CT, is a vibrant cultural space affiliated with Eastern Connecticut State University. It showcases a diverse range of contemporary art exhibitions, featuring both local and national artists. The gallery serves as a hub for creativity and community engagement, offering educational programs and events that enrich the artistic experience.

About the Juror
Jeanne Ciravolo, University of Connecticut Assistant Professor in Residence. Director, Alexey von Schlippe Gallery, Groton, Connecticut. Jeanne Ciravolo is a mixed media artist whose figurative paintings and textiles explore family narratives. Her work has been exhibited nationally in galleries and museums including The Butler Institute of American Art, OH; the Yellowstone Art Museum, Billings, MT; Coral Springs Museum, Coral Springs, FL and AREA Code Art Fair, Boston, MA. In 2020 she received the Walter Feldman Fellowship, and her commissioned portraits can be found in the collections of the State of Connecticut Appellate and Superior Courts.
