Botanical forms of nature have engaged me for many years as a subject for my work in photography. I draw inspiration from the shapes, textures, colors, and transitional energies of the seasons. The ephemeral, the transforming, and the impermanent are ideas that I explore in my work. The geometry hidden in these living forms continues to fascinate me and is a subject of continued study. I no longer title my botanical works; instead, I focus on the graphic interpretation of the forms, either in classic black and white or color, letting the images speak for themselves. It's always my intention to communicate the living energy present in these subjects. My strongest influences are the works of Georgia O'Keeffe and Brett Weston, especially those that depict botanical subject matter and abstraction.
